And we're back

We survived... Beck n' Ben made it back from Guate on Tuesday, and we have just a few hundred shots to show for it. Oh, and about a thousand Quetzales worth of souvenirs. Oh, and for anyone interested, we were shooting with a Canon 30D (Sigma 17-70 f/2.8-4.5 lens) and a Canon Digital Elph. Needless to say, we were packing light.

Just when we thought the ol' niece couldn't get any cooler, Dad goes on vacation and snags this awesome shot! I love the water droplet on her nose.

Not one of ours

Yup, this is a photo courtesy of the almighty Google image search... We're excited for our trip next week to Guatemala, after which we'll surely post some pix of our own makin'.

One more thing...(oops)

Almost forgot to post my favorite. We got lucky: the color in the bushes won't be the same for another year. Sad.

The weather was excellent on Saturday for a relatively quick photo session with Tyler . Low-level clouds with a lot of texture and not too cold and definitely not too hot.

the shadow proves the sunshine

A powerful rainstorm rocked St. Louis today, bringing on round two of local flash flooding and causing the Cardinals' season opener to be canceled after a few short innings. (Lame, since they were winning and Pujols 5 had already gone yard...) But we love spring storms because of their inherent beauty and the positive after-effects (i.e. green grass in our fledgling yard--we hope). I was working on some other photos in the living room while Beck was at school when the unmistakable rainbow glow burst through the kitchen window. You should have seen it. These pictures won't do the eerie sky justice.
