just plain great | morgan family 2012

It's not fair to try and write words to accompany the Morgan's photo shoot. Such good friends and such dang good-looking kids. Love these guys like crazy.

simply irresistible.

Cake Pops and Cocoa
At the risk of notifying the world so we end up with none, take a look at some of this deliciousness, hand-crafted by Angela Quinney of O'Fallon. She lives just up the street from us, so we got to sample some of this season's best holiday desserts (and photograph some, too) on the eve before she began taking orders. No joke, you need to contact her and order some. Soon. The cake balls might be our fave. Or the Andes Mint chocolate cookies. Oh, just order some and be your own judge!

switchfoot: st. louis, november 2012

We decided to go a little experimental at the most recent Switchfoot concert in St. Louis. It was, according to Jon Foreman, the first time the San Diego rock band had performed at an NFL game (I think they said it was the first NFL game they'd ever even attended, for that matter). (And it was almost for sure the first time the guys have sung while a giant stuffed Ram went crowd-surfing...) And for us, it was the first time trying out some Canon 5DIII multi-exposures at an event of this magnitude. You'll see them scattered throughout the next 20 images. And, all in all, we think they turned out pretty cool. At least for an experiment. Of all, my personal favorite is the first.

Oh, and by the way? Love the ode to Chin (95) on Jon's jersey. Vintage Switchfoot.

a loving aunt | oct. 2012

family photo
The colorful leaves of fall came and went in a flurry this year. Was it because it was too dry this summer? Was it because the wind and rain knocked them all down? It's always a guessing game and a gamble trying to pick what day will best show off the colors of autumn for fall. Oct. 16 was a pretty good guess; not perfect, but still one of the best this year in St. Louis.

It had been a while since we last created and posted a Facebook Cover photo collage, so here's a new one. Statigram can create one automatically very quickly, but Photoshop, which is what we used for this one, works just fine, too.

Cute. Kid. Her curls sort of remind us of our niece's. But that smile is all her own.

Madeline's photos were shot in Old St. Charles on and around Historic Main Street on a cool fall morning. And while we don't typically recommend a white shirt for a photo session, some people just make it work. Yes, Madeline is definitely one of those people.

This isn't a watch or hair care advertisement. It's Madeline: leader, musician, daughter, friend, and Class of '13 student.

kenzie | faust park, class of 2013

Our last post about Kenzie didn't show off the fall color at Faust Park. The first below, on the other hand, sure does. Man, what a beautiful (and cold) afternoon!
