Maddie

We love this wall in Tower Grove Park. Of course, it's just another wall without the stunning Maddie Hemming in the shot, too.

true friendships are timeless.

Good friendships stand the test of time. This month has been a good one for us both, with each of us finding some much-needed opportunities to spend good, quality time with great friends and family.
With the below set of images shot in the Delmar Loop, we wanted to give off a vintage feel to convey the timeless friendship of Emily and Paige. Thanks, Instagram, for the help. (Only downside? No way to get around the square crop!)

Kodachrome.

Not the film. Not the Paul Simon song. No, the Basin. Kodachrome Basin is off Utah's beaten path near Tropic and Cannonville, it costs all of $6 to get in and see for the day (national parks pass not accepted), and it's worth every penny.

a long time coming

We've been waiting a long time to meet back up with Ally to take her senior photos. We first met her what seems like forever ago (it was in April) and were excited when we got the call in August to go work with her again. Here's a look at some of her photos from Quail Ridge Park:

black and white and us

Few words. Just a picture, some technical details and my opinion.

This photo was taken in the town of Washington under cloudy skies and a threat of rain, but even diffused lighting = a portrait photographer's dream, right? My favorite aspect about this photo and the reason I chose to post it are the way the light and shadows play out, especially in the back slats of the metal swing. It was a somewhat serendipitous result of trying to adequately light Brittany's face on the left.
400 ISO. f/7.1. 1/125. 85mm.
