So, the state of Missouri is pretty much underwater, and here's proof. Flooding has been the top story of every newscast, and with good reason. I took a quick trip to Winfield a few days ago (before the town's levee burst), and things did not look good.

picnic is a strange word

The word "picnic" is a really odd word ... one of those words that if you say it enough times in a row, you really get wondering how they ever came up with it. But that's all beside the point. We picnicked with Clifford and crew at a cool park in Fenton, Mo., today -- the sun was bright, the food was excellent, and, the entertainment was great. As corny as it sounds, methinks you'll be glad you did.

race for the cure ... and a photo

This morning I hit the road with some friends of mine in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Downtown St. Louis. Last year, the STL became the largest RftC in the country, and we were all hoping that the weather, flooding, and high gas prices didn't deter even more participants from joining in. I was part of Kali's Big Dog Crew, a team formed by a friend, co-worker and breast-cancer survivor of nine years. I also raced in honor of my Aunt Kris, who underwent a bout with breast cancer last year. They're still tallying the numbers, but it looks to be another record-breaking year.

Today's photo, in honor of the amazing US Open finish at Torrey Pines in San Diego, takes a look at the San Diego Temple , situated off I-5 in La Jolla and just south of the beautiful oceanside golf course.

It's been a while since I've written anything, so it has fallen on me to post the pics of the day. Since Ben did a bunch yesterday, I'll just display a couple today.

Friday evening was spent hanging out with friends and kneeling behind the camera. Check out what you get with a few stuffed animals, three dancing adults, a spray bottle, and the promise of some tasty snacks. Julia n' Natalie were great subjects and fun to play, er, work with.
