missouri trek 2012

Pioneer portrait Pioneers in the water Pioneer handcart Pioneer photo Pioneer portrait Pioneer struggling photo After a week in Ohio at the 51st annual UPAA symposium, Saturday morning it came time to put into practice some new ideas (can you spot the free-lensing?). And there was no better place to do just that than middle Missouri on the fourth and final day of the St. Louis North Stake pioneer trek in Mark Twain National Forest. You can see more on Facebook if you're interested.

senior photos + facebook covers: alyssa

People complained (a lot) when Facebook made the switch to Timeline a few months ago. Come to think of it, we did too, a little... But then we realized how much easier and fun it would be to display our images online -- in a 12-13 image FB cover photo collage format, like these three:

So, I suppose we're fans of the Facebook switch. And even bigger fans of Alyssa's beautiful collection. Here's one more from it:

Get it? It's a tutu for a 3-year-old!

Yeah, not funny. Just thought the combination of numbers was interesting. Bad puns and all, happy 3rd birthday, Ella... and Amber, great job on the awesome handmade tutu. The colors are awesome!

Good luck finding a better looking family in all St. Charles County. Seriously, you guys. If there were an award out there (who knows, there probably is...), you'd have our votes!

Kids. Outdoors. And a million-dollar smile. So. Sweet.
Enough said.

It's a guessing game.

Having fun in the post-production processing and just had to share...

So, here's a quick game. Which settings go with which photo?...
A) 32mm, f/4, 200 ISO; B) 85mm, f/2.2, 200 ISO; C) 85mm, f/2.2, 400 ISO; D) 85mm, f/2, 400 ISO. My favorite image here is the one on the far right. It's Becca's. So stoic and cold yet so vibrant and lively.

chrisse

It's nearly impossible to shoot outside in the summertime in St. Louis. It's practically impossible to do just about anything outside in the summertime in St. Louis. Except this summer. Yesterday, we had a high of 80, and today shouldn't be much different -- not bad for the middle of July! And while it was a little warmer the day we took these pictures of Chrisse at the QRP, it wasn't bad. Whew. This year, I love STL summers... and these pictures.

picture of the day

Nothing much to say, just thought we'd display a shot of Tyler from a couple months ago, this time treated in PS with an interesting texture.

Nauvoo: City of Love and Heat

Despite some rather intense heat, the Sylvester-Yordan shoot last week in the City of Joseph was a blast, and it was fun to get to know Mery and Seth during our wedding day photo tour of historic Nauvoo... They're an amazing couple, and the in-laws were awesome too! Click on either photo to check out their entire album.

Reunited

Sorry, it's been a few days. Today's four photos come from the recent family reunion and 90th birthday celebration honoring Lillian Munson in (and around) Provo, Utah. If you'd like to see the whole batch, e-mail Becca or me and we'll getcha' the album link.
