flash that smile | nick @ eighteen months

Little Kid Photo Tip #819: When you think a shoot has wrapped, give it at least one more minute. Breathe. Breathe again. Maybe start to pack up. But leave the camera on and the lens cap off. Keep that finger on the shutter ... You never know when the best smiles will come.

Having lots of fun with the whole family in town. Yup, our trip to the Zoo was hot, but the exhibits were great -- especially the new underwater sea lion exhibit

oh, my(lie)

She's back and possibly more beautiful and adorable than ever! Mylie's curly hair caught us by surprise on Saturday, and her eyes and smile won us over. What a cute kid, dontchathink?

two point oh?!

It's been busy around here. So, like a few days ago, I again decided we needed to do a little something different for today's post to keep things interesting and new. So? Tonight? A little extra color, a little more light.
I'm pleased with the changeup. It's not a regime change. Not a perm. Not something for every photo. But a few per shoot? An occasional curve ball? Sure. Why not? And so it is. Photography by us, 2.0.

No words.

Starting with the Miyasaki clan, whose pix we shot at Quail Ridge Park last night, we've got quite a few posts coming -- and soon (despite our recent hiatus!) ... Here's a quick sneak peek at some of the images taken just before dusk at our favorite park in town.

Variety of lenses, variety of cameras, variety of ISO settings, variety of lighting arrangements...

well worth the rain delay

It's apparently monsoon season in Missouri (didn't really know that existed, did'ya?). After a few postponements due to rain or the threat of rain.... (long pause...) Well, we'll stop writing and let the pictures tell the story of this beautiful 6-month-old! ...

... and this awesomely hilarious and vibrant 1-year-old!

Oh. And for anyone wondering out there: 70-200mm f/4 for most of these images.

the next big thing

Talk about a funny little guy, this little man was a riot to watch and photograph. Mom and Dad said he'd been having a bad day up until this point, but you certainly would never have known it from his smiles!

[Mostly shot with Canon 70-200 f/4 with three Alien Bees lighting the room.]
